how do you get an iphone to work with Tmobile??

ok i have an iphone with AT&T but my brother-in-law wants to get one with tmobile, an unlocked one. Yes i know usually you just put your sim card in the phone and it works but when i got my iphone they never put my sim card in the phone, they just gave it to me and i had to go home and activate it on apple.com which makes me think you can only use it with at&t?? if you have an iphone with tmobile that is unlocked PLEASE let me know what you did to activate it and everything so i can let him know so he can get one. THANKS!!

You can't do it the iphone is AT&T only. If you get a hacked one and activate it with T-Mobile the first time it updates it will stop working. If you want a T-Mobile phone get a T-Mobile phone an iphone is expensive and it would suck to get a hacked one and then find out it's no good and you spent a lot of money on a paper weight.
