I think my iPhone is broken, it seems to be on permanent mute?

My Iphone works OK with the headset plugged in or when set to speaker phone. The rest of the time if I call someone, I can't hear them and they can't hear me. Has anyone else seen this problem with their iphone?

If you have any problems speak with Apple, directly, your covered with them and they can provide you with a replacement if it is fault go to a store.

I just read an article about that problem stating that the cause was usually dust getting into the headphone jack on the top, making the phone "think" earphones were connected and atomatically sending audio there. Check if thet's the problem by cleaning out the jack with a q-tip dipped in a LITTLE alchohol. It also said it was good to cutt off a bit of the cotton on the end - more scrubbing power,less hairs. If this doesn't help the I'd probably send it to repair.

Its better to take it to a Customer Case or i would recommend to contact the Apple iPhone customer support and confirm the issue first and then proceed. Becasue if it is a settings change then it can be done over phone rather than going to a customer care.

I think you should just use ear phones because sometimes dust can get into the plugin holes so the phone thinks there are ear phones plugged in
