The thing about the iphone (that some people find regrettable) is that they dont sell different cheaper versions of it. It isnt like the razor where you can just go buy from a cart in the mall. Apple is cocky about their product, they know that people will pay full price for it so they dont feel the need to sell them low price somewhere else. The truth is that the cheapest place you are going to get an iphone (that isnt unlocked or in some way damaged) is at ATT or Appleand its going to be full price.

theres anew 32 gig iphone but i dont think they can be bought unlocked

Apple.com may have some factory certified refurbished iphones. (Even if they don't right now, keep checking back because there are new listings every day.) Apple guarantees their refurbished products and sometimes there are great deals Everything in the refurbished section is available on a first come first serve basis though, so if you a see a decent deal, grab it quick before someone else does! (Apple also has free shipping and the delivery is super quick but you will have to be there to sign for it or sign a release and leave it on your door!)
